What does this test measure?
Measures the level of Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) in the blood — a hormone produced by the ovarian follicle cells, used as an indicator of ovarian reserve (the remaining egg supply).
Why is it ordered?
Used to assess ovarian reserve and fertility, and to help plan assisted reproduction treatments such as IVF. A high level may be associated with polycystic ovary syndrome, while a low level indicates reduced ovarian reserve.
